I have maken promise to myself that I pick up at least one trash a day. I know it is not enough that I remember that I don´t litter. I was at the park yesterday playing and I cleaned this little area from some candy papers. I spent almost three weeks stewarding for two Theravada Buddhist monks from Abhayagiri monastery who are spending the rains retreat outside Portland, OR. During this time I worked constructing trails to the monks dwellings, prepared breakfast and tea and did other various tasks as needed.

My mother is 76, but she is really feeling her age. Since my father died last year she has also had to come to terms with losing her elder brother and two elder sisters. She worries about her health. She has reason to dwell on her health since she seems to have a series of visits to various medical specialists and she often needs to go to hospital. It’s all getting too much for her. I had a major sickness two years ago then I had chance to read more books about Buddhism. I felt gradually like to learn more about it and felt more peaceful.

Saturday we hosted the dharma of the great rev Heng Sure.

Yesterday it was pouring with rain. When I cameback to the office after buying my lunch I met a lady who looked troubled. She didn’t have any umbrella and had to go out. I lend her my umbrella. After an hour she returned it and she was very grateful.

I don’t know if this counts, but here goes. My sister-in-law had to have her dog of 13 years put down yesterday. I have had dogs put down before and know how difficult it can be. I made myself available to her and went with her to the vet’s office in order to share with her the passing of her Samantha. I wished Samantha a wonderful rebirth and my sister-in-law and I laughed and cried together. I though it was important that someone be there for her.

a friend who i only know through the internet posted the other day that she was low on money and made a joke about people donating to the Name Needs Money fund. it had just been my birthday so i was rolling in a couple hundred bucks (since im still fairly young and get money for my birthday.) i was planning on getting a medicinal marijuana card, cause i would like to enjoy smoking weed legally. instead im mailing her 50 bucks and hoping its enough to make her life all the much better.

I am a big fan of music. After started reading I understood all my music is pretty much does not help me to grow Alobha, Adosha and Amoha. I put all my music collection a side. Experiecned it helped a lot to cut down rebirth.
