I’m constantly reminding myself of the importance of keeping ‘my precepts purely when sitting in the hall’.
That gives me the energy to appreciate this wonderful and rare opportunity, which allows me to see peace through the shared values of the noble friendship.
I remind myself of the noble friendship between two Buddhist traditions, Chan and Theravada, and that motivates me to keep moving on, even though the surrounding circumstances appear to be tough, sometimes overwhelming.
I’m trying to remember all the good deeds I have done (which is not always easy when facing the inner tyrant) and transform them into peace and good health and many other good qualities which I can share with all sentient beings.
The above covers the altruistic intention, or the bodhi resolve, which I try to remember and cultivate every day… ‘every day I try’.
And yesterday, I saved a spider that got stuck in the wet sink 🙂
